However, there is so much more to see and do in this diverse country and we believe the best way to explore Sri Lanka is by private air-conditioned car with your very own driver/guide. This option gives you the freedom to design your day and get the most out of your Sri Lanka holiday experience. Why not go where you like, when you like and stop as often as you like?  It costs less than you would imagine.

All vehicles are modern, fully insured, licensed and air-conditioned. Your vehicle includes fuel and the services of an English speaking driver/guide throughout the rental period. All cars come with free kilometres and provided you do not exceed the generous daily allowance there’s nothing extra to pay. We even include the entrance fees to some of the most popular attractions (see details below).

Driving on the Sri Lanka is not for the faint-hearted.  The Sri Lanka roads are narrow, signs are few and far between and the highway code takes on a whole new meaning. We therefore do not recommend self-drive car rental in Sri Lanka.

Please note that throughout the rental period each night’s accommodation must be pre- booked prior to departure from the UK.   Whilst on tour, all driving must be during daylight hours.

The entrance fees included in the hire charge are for the following attractions. If your route includes these then the driver is authorised to purchase tickets on your behalf; Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, Sigiriya Lion Rock, Dambulla Caves, Kandy Temple, Kandy Culture Show, Royal Botanical Gardens, Polonnaruwa Museum, Tea Plantation and Railway Nuwara Eliya.
